Poetry moment - here's one wot I wrote earlier

Scales Of Justice

http://www.birminghampoetry.bravepages.com/fiddaman4.htm

Locked in a cell
Six feet by eight.
Only an hours recreation
Allowed by the state.
They call themselves welfare,
They'll attend to our needs.
All forgotten souls
With our unheard pleads.

Warder's knocking on my door
Waking me from my sleep.
Time to put my brave face on
Trying not to weep.
Time for communal breakfast
With the vast walks of life.
Cutting up the bacon & eggs
With the plastic prison knife.

Lights out at ten thirty
As another day goes by.
Peace in my cell at last
As I begin to cry.
There's frustration & anger
Building up inside
As I think about the plastic knife
And a place for it to hide.

Twenty years added
In the High Court today.
I used the knife on one of the screws
Now it's time to make me pay.
I took the beatings and the kicks
When I got back to my cell.
If this is what life is
Then I'd rather be in Hell.
