Yep, the reasoning is the longer half-life.

I'm swapping in two weeks time, so I'll have to let you know how it
goes. Am worried about the damage to brain point you made -
particularly as I've been on Seroxat (Paxil) 5 years.

I've been told to do a straight swap 30mg for 30mg. I've set aside
one year to do it. If it gets too bad, I'll go cold turkey. I can't
afford to take anymore time out to try and withdraw.

First time I tried I got the delayed withdrawal (after 18 months).
The next time I tried (after 4 years) I got withdrawal just tapering
the dosage down.
