Mother describes daughter's downward spiral
She's had to listen to the graphic description of her daughter's autopsy and testimony from multiple witnesses about the sad decline of a girl who showed so much promise.
On Thursday, the forth day of a coroner's inquest into the death of Sara Carlin, Sara's mother Rhonda took the witness stand to talk about her daughter and the events surrounding her death.
Sara, 18, an Oakville resident and graduate of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School, hanged herself in her parents’ basement on Sunday, May 6, 2007.
At the time, she had been taking Paxil, an anti-depressant, which Health Canada has issued advisories for due to the possible increased risk of suicidal events for children and adolescents who take it.
