I find it quite baffling that someone who has been exceedingly active and obtusely vocal on the psych drug boards since 2002 -- as Mr Fiddy (Bob Fiddaman) has –- is still so sublimely uninformed of actual facts, knowledge of the whole SSRI / SNRI drug class and associated MH issues ….."


I seems that a lot depends on where you arrived on the forums, who took you under their wing, what their agenda was ………. and why you first came, whether you have the strength of your own convictions and the ability to keep perspective and objective.

Unfortunately the single issue campaigners are so focused on their own agenda they don't bother to look at the whole – even when their issue is a small part of a very much larger problem – and by giving no thought to what is actually happening – they make other small parts of the whole a great deal worse – as the stats clearly indicate.

Yesterday - I was bemused and dazed to see that Mr Fiddy posted with such bristling relish his invitation to write on the newly set up My Face Networking http://www.myfacenetworking.com/ who's owners would apparently be

"delighted if you could participate by writing a regular feature that we hope to dedicated to people who are struggling to taper off antidepressants."

Firstly, I was bemused as to where they got the notion Mr Fiddy should / could write about SSRI withdrawal – if they had read his "site with great interest" as they say they have …… they would know that as far as helping other people get off the drugs go - he has no idea,

He has no knowledge of antidepressant (AD) drug withdrawal methods or what helps, both which he freely admitted too and has well catalogued – nothing to offer other than his own personal experience of coming off Seroxat which he ended by going cold turkey – which is neither safe nor recommended.

So - there must be another reason for said `invitation' and the only one I can figure is possibly his Seroxat_Sufferers, fiddamanblog's hit list – probably mostly inflated -- by his Seroxat pals, GSK and their Lawyers watching him further sabotage his chance to gain a settlement following his passed indiscrete posting.

I was hoping he wouldn't let his inflated ego and arrogance get the better of him ……… but I guess that was one hope too many ……… definitely beyond realistic behest to the universe - because his response was

"I think it's a good thing to branch out and create awareness about the dangers of antidepressants and this will not need any consideration on my part."

A little late in the day (over seven years) for Mr Fiddy to apparently develop consideration for anyone taking ADs `other' than Seroxat - but I was dazed by the speed of his actions - good to his word he has already set up a blog that despite the sentiments of his statement is called … d-dah

Um! Surely - given the ethos to "branch out and create awareness" maybe `SSRI Side Effects' or "Antidepressant Side Effects" would have been a tad more conducive.

I wonder if the requesters will be so "delighted" when they realize he seems to have chosen to ignore the point of their letter -- although I honestly doubt they'll care or notice.

It will start with a list of Seroxat Side Effects and just end up another diatribe of what Mr Fiddy went through withdrawing, along with the obligatory evils of Soroxat and GSK ….. and I expect probably be somewhere else to avoid because of the rehashed content and tracking cookies he'll imbed!!!

Oh! BTW as MyFaceNetworking's `invitation' seems to have gone to Mr Fiddy's head you might want to avoid his other new Seroxat centred blogs for the same reasons …………

I'm not belittleing what Mr Fiddy has been through with respect the drugs and the really sad thing is Mr Fiddy doesn't seem to realise he's being exploited and used……. again.

The b*m's on seats theorem ……… total blog numbers and high traffic statistics - is all that's important to web companies ……… not content.

Isn't it amazing what a computer generated letter containing a bit of flattery can make people do!
