Irish advocate Leonie Fennell has upped the ante recently on her blog. She brings into question psychiatry, Lundbeck and, in general, has a pop at the way drugs are regulated in Ireland. A recent post of hers caused a stir, so much so that she was threatened by lawyers. She did the right thing in pretty much ignoring the threat and continues to probe Lundbeck and their antidepressant, Cipramil [known as Celexa in the US]. Leonie's son, Shane, was prescribed Cipramil, he killed himself whilst on it. Leonie gives her son a voice, at the same time warning others of the dangers of Lundbeck's drug and their association with psychiatrists who still prescribe it to children.
I met Leonie and her husband, Tony, earlier this year. Two very beautiful people.
